It’s Election Day in America, which means there’s no better time to look at one of the most interesting sets of caps from the 2016 season.
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the New Hampshire primary, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the AA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, introduced a recurring “We The Fans” promotion throughout the 2016 campaign. They allowed baseball fans across the United States to cast their votes and decide which hat the team would don with their “bipartisan” jerseys on opening day.
Up first is the Blue Donkey hat, which doesn’t need much more explanation:

It’s competitor was the Red Elephant cap:

The Red Elephant nudged out the Blue Donkey to take their place atop the Fisher Cats’ domes on opening day, while the Donkey won a vote among students and teachers in the area for a special day game the following week. It also returned in early September, as the Fisher Cats got ready to close out 2016.
Regardless of what side of the aisle you fall on, these awesome caps brought baseball fans together to show what democracy can do, even on the diamond.
